Demise Story of Yahoo: The Disaster Impact of Limited & Wrong Belief Systems

Demise Story of Yahoo: The Disaster Impact of Limited & Wrong Belief Systems

In 1998, the founder of Google Lary Page and Sergey Brin had approached to Yahoo to sell their company  in just one million dollar.

At that time, it was so easy to get the Google without any competition because Larry Page and Sergey Brin want to focus on their study after selling their  company. But Yahoo had refused this offer with a belief that they can develop their own better page ranking platform and there is no need to buy Google.

This was one of the biggest mistake Yahoo had done.  At that time, Yahoo was one of the top companies that defined Internet and created an Internet revolution era. Yahoo was just like the Emperor of the Internet in that era. By getting this superiority complex in their belief systems, Yahoo had ignored the most important things to upgrade themselves according to the new changes. Yahoo lost his focus on innovation and upgradation and from there , the journey of their downfall had started.

But destiny had given one more chance to Yahoo in 2002  when Lary Page and Sergey Bin approached to Yahoo again with a new demand of 5 billion dollar but CEO of Yahoo Terry Semel refused this offer with a statement  to his employees that 5 billion dollar, 7 billion dollar or 10 billion dollar, I don't know what they are really worth and you don't either and there is no fucking way,  we are going to do this.  This arrogant refusal for Goolge became the last nail in the coffin of Yahoo.

After that Yahoo tried to  develop its own search engine to compete with Google but lost the game of search engine and Google created a new history of success. Google converted in a  company of  100 billion dollar and valuation was increasing day by day and  on the other side , Yahoo was gradually declining and loosing their market value.

Now a stage came, when Yahoo realised that they are now going to die and they have to sold their company. In 2008, Microsoft had given an offer to buy Yahoo in 40 billion dollar but again Yahoo refused this offer with a belief that they can compete with Google.

At last, Yahoo was sold in just 4.3 billion dollar to Vrizon in year 2016.

Yahoo had lost his stardom and leads to their demise by not realising the wrongs in their belief systems. Their past success had make their CEO arrogant and even after getting a second chance to buy the Google, he had lost the opportunity just by his wrong and limited belief systems. .

This is not the story of only Yahoo, but it can be a story of any individual person or organisation. It is bitter truth that if any one ignore the importance of  educating  and upgrading their belief systems then they can also lead themselves to their own demise just like Yahoo.
